As a musical renaissance man of sorts,
Travis Humbert has been kicking out the jams for almost the entirety
of his 21-year existence. Initially learning many instruments from his
grandfather, the legendary Herb Wening (who performed with the
renowned fiddle player Sleepy Marlin, among others), Travis performed
traditional German polkas and waltzes along with pop, rock, and
country standards with the Wening Family band throughout southern
Indiana.
As Travis grew, his musical
repertoire continued to grow as well, adding instruments such as
piano, mandolin, ukulele and others to his ever-expanding list of
instruments. After graduating high school, Travis earned a music
scholarship to the University of Evansville where he studied
percussion/marimba under the great Bill Shaltis. At U of E, Travis
performed with every ensemble offered at the school, hosted a weekly
2-hour blues radio show on WUEV 91.5 FM, and even performed a guest
spot with the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra.
After his stint at U of E, Travis
decided to pursue the study of Audio Engineering at the SAE Institute
in Nashville, TN, where he graduated #1 in his graduating class. Now
interning at both the historical Sound Stage Studios recording
facilities and the up-and-coming Beat Kangz Electronics, Travis is
currently striving towards a career in the music industry that
includes performing, writing, producing, recording, mixing, and
teaching music and is extremely honored to bring his talents to
Superior Music. Travis is looking forward to sharing the gift of rock
with all who want to learn! As Paul Stanley of the rock group KISS
once said, "I Pledge Allegiance To The State of Rock & Roll!" Right on
Paul, right on...
